Alternative dispute resolution has become the darling of the trial courts and many counsel because of its relative economy. Procedures, such as arbitration and mediation, call upon a different form of advocacy, and our experience in this realm supplements our expertise in trying cases. Many disputes should not or cannot be resolved through traditional trials in state or federal court, and alternative dispute resolution may offer the opportunity to resolve a dispute far more quickly and economically than full-scale litigation. Our goal is always to address as early as possible in the litigation process the appropriateness of turning to such alternative procedures to serve our clients' interests.
