Bob Yahiro first joined the firm as counsel in 1988. For
more than 25 years Bob has been a business and tax lawyer with an
emphasis on employee benefits, buying and selling businesses and
environmental matters. In addition to being a private practice
attorney, he has a unique background as in-house counsel and as
a business owner.
From 1985-1986 Bob served as general counsel for a privately-held
company engaged in various specialty chemical and manufacturing
operations, where he was responsible for all legal affairs
in U.S. and Europe. His duties included M&A, litigation
management, labor matters, contract negotiations, real estate
and tax matters and asset-based financing, as well as all
environmental litigation.
In 1988 Bob founded and managed a records storage and management
company, raising capital through a limited partnership offering. Nine years later he successfully negotiated the sale of the
company, returning to the limited partners more than 12 times
their original investment.
From 1999-2000 Bob was on sabbatical leave from the firm
while serving as general counsel for an Internet-based mortgage
and real estate brokerage company. His responsibilities included
compliance with mortgage banking laws and regulations in 46
states and the District of Columbia; supervision of outside
counsel and all litigation; supporting website development
and Internet business development, trademark and content licensing;
advising on employee stock option, stock purchase and other
employee benefits, as well as various labor law issues, real
estate leasing, equipment financing, financial statement disclosures,
intellectual property and securities matters.
Upon closing the successful sale of the company, Bob returned
to Rodi Pollock where he completed the successful winding
up and liquidation of the company's affairs and where he continues
his practice advising a variety of closely-held businesses.
